The objectives of ICOMOS International Conservation Centre in Xi’an are: within the framework of professional cooperation and Statutes of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), and subject to relevant laws of the People’s Republic of China, the Centre shall implement research and conservation projects, organize training activities, publish books and periodicals, and carry out other activities within the following scope:
a. Further promote the Xi’an Declaration on the Conservation of the Setting of Monuments, Sites and Historic Areas;
b. Conserve cultural heritage along the Silk Road;
c. Explore the correlation between traditional craftsmanship and heritage conservation science.
