I. Document Introduction
This report is the 2022 bilingual Chinese-English annual report of the ICOMOS International Conservation Center-Xi'an (IICC-X). Founded in 2006, IICC-X is recognized by China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and SACH, jointly established by the Xi'an Municipal Government in cooperation with ICOMOS, and is the only non-governmental, non-profit operational institution of ICOMOS worldwide. Its main responsibilities include promoting cultural heritage protection in the Asia-Pacific region through international collaboration; disseminating ICOMOS's cultural heritage protection concepts, particularly the research and promotion of the 'Xi'an Declaration'; providing technical and intellectual assistance to Silk Road countries, especially in Central and South Asia; and establishing effective international communication and cooperation mechanisms. In January 2022, the Xi'an Municipal Government further strengthened IICC-X's development, designating a deputy mayor to serve on the IICC-X Executive Committee and providing personnel, premises, and financial support.
